Faith and Work Testimonies: Tabitha Okello

I first encountered Faith and Work through my pastor, Jimmy Okello, at University Community Church, Gulu, and later through teachings and gatherings centered on a biblical perspective of work and vocation. What stood out most to me was learning that work is not merely a means to earn a living, and yet, it is affected by the fall.

Learning it is part of God’s good design from the very beginning. I was deeply encouraged by the reminder that our identity is found in Christ and that every area of life, including our professions, is an opportunity to glorify God and serve others faithfully.

The lessons from Faith and Work have helped me approach my duties with greater intentionality, integrity, and compassion. As a legal professional, I have been reminded that God deeply cares about the people we serve and that the way we handle clients matters greatly. I now try to see my work not just as a responsibility but as an opportunity to reflect Christ through honesty, diligence, fairness, and service. I have also become more mindful about balancing productivity with rest, trusting God rather than finding my worth only in achievement.

Tabitha attends the Gulu Cohort and works with Nimungu Associated Advocates
